Hi! I’m Caitlin. I’m an artist living and working in Nova Scotia. My practice is rooted in painting, while freely spanning oil, acrylic, collage, animation, music production, and textiles. Driven by a deep curiosity for diverse mediums, I aim to create approachable, grounded artwork that explores everyday moments and themes of nature and communication.

I rely heavily on unified color palettes, color theory, and a strong compositional rhythm to guide me through each piece. Through this deliberate balance of form and feeling, I’m able to discover more vibrant and authentic compositions that reject strict realism to evoke universal emotions. I want my work to invite viewers to re-examine familiar surroundings through a fresh, expressive lens, capturing the subtle magic embedded in everyday life.

I love blending intuitive storytelling with deliberate design, shifting flexibly between realism and abstraction to tell stories. By flattening the picture plane and abandoning traditional notions of foreground, middle ground, and background, I hope to construct rich, textured scenes of the natural world.
